Applying for PIP: Our experience of applying for PIP, Part 5.

Houston, we officially have a PIP appeal date! This is not a drill!

We have had a letter through today from the Courts and Tribunals Service to say Husband’s PIP appeal will take place on the 13th of July.

1 year and two months after we started the application process.

It also says that if we want to submit any further evidence, we have to do this no later than 7 days before the court date.

Right. Best get on, then.

    1. Thank you very much. Husband is v nervous about this now as he is the one who will have to speak and answer questions in court; I can’t speak for him unless I am invited to or he asks me to do this. Just getting things together now to send off as more evidence.

    1. Hi Bear, thank you for this – having a look at the website it looks like the Zacchaeus 2000 Trust supports clients in London. That being said the report made for very sobering and reaffirming reading – this hasn’t just happened to us but seems to be happening with anyone who dares not only apply but then go on to challenge the DWP’s decision.

We will be supported tomorrow by someone from Husband’s mother’s church who is a part of a team who assist people with benefits and appeals. Fingers crossed.
